I have wanted to have the opportunity to photograph the world cup for my entire photographic career.  Well, it is finally going to happen.  Tomorrow AM I head to Jacksonville, Florida to shoot the US team against Nigeria in a friendly.  Return Sunday and then Monday evening head to Rio de Janeiro.  One of the biggest dilemmas is what to bring.  Some things are obvious and easy.  Three 1DX bodies, 200-400, f4;70-200, f2.8 and 24-70, f2.8.  But what about remotes?  Two 5D Mark IIIs, 14mm and 16-35.  But all of the other equipment is the kicker.  Pocket wizards, ball heads, posts, etc.  It fills a roller case.  FIFA said hard wire, but the bulk and weight of wire is essentially impossible.  This is a shot of my remote equipment:

Needless to say, this is a lot of stuff.  Over 15 years ago I had decided to shave my head.  My barber, Lauren at that time talked me out of it.  I have always wanted to do it, but what if I hate it.  Have to go back to work in 10-14 days.  But not this time, 6 weeks to change my mind.  So tonight I did it.  Here is before:

Part way through:

Well I did it, now I really have to worry about sun burn.  More tomorrow on the way to Jacksonville!
